Business Development Manager

Our client is a wholesale food service equipment and supply distributor currently with three distinct business lines including a full-service turnkey supplier of food service equipment/supplies; a commercial kitchen contract design division and a custom design/fabrication of controlled environment rooms.

Are you inspired by and passionate about the hottest new restaurant trends that are popping up daily in your urban neighborhood?  Do you enjoy exploring new bills of fare at fine-dining locations with your friends?  Do you envision your future to have an element of design…creating spot-on, trendy dining experiences for those you enjoy spending time with? When at dinner, do you look around and think, “If I could just get my hands on this property, I could make it a better WOW experience for others.”  Might you enjoy partnering with innovative restaurateurs, leading-edge executive chefs, passionate sommeliers and high energy catering managers to produce and maximize the experience their customers devour when stepping through their front door?

This Business Development Manager role may well be the career opportunity you didn’t even know you were looking for.  Do you think of yourself as a closet chef that just can’t wait to try the latest organic ingredient offered by your local farmers’ market? Do you have entrepreneurial intentions but just don’t know how to get started?  Are you currently working in food service but would relish the chance to recapture your nights, weekends and holidays?  Are you typically the strongest social presence when meeting new people and exploring new opportunities?

The Business Development Manager works to improve the company’s market position and achieve financial growth.  This person defines long-term goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals.

The primary role of the BDM is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients. Strategic planning is a key part as it is the BDM’s responsibility to develop a pipeline of new business.
