General Manager (Full Service Restaurant)

Independent Restaurant in the Kansas City area is seeking a General Manager for their unique full service concept. The General Manager has the overall responsibility for directing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including product preparation, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management, recruiting and retention of team members, financial accountability, ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer and other duties as required or assigned.



  • Analyzes and recommends methods for improvements to contain/reduce costs and increase sales.
  • Monitors all food and beverage products to ensure compliance with company standards and specifications.
  • Enforces company standards, policies, and procedures, including sanitation, safety, dress codes, and cash handling.
  • Oversees training for assistant managers to ensure the development of their leadership skills, customer service skills, company philosophy and menu knowledge, and point of sale knowledge.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluation of employees, including termination
  • Evaluates departmental and subordinate performance against established standards, goals and objectives.
  • Maintains a clean and safe physical environment through timely repair and upkeep.  Educates assistant managers and hourly employees on sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with health, sanitation, liquor, safety, and employment regulations by clearly communicating and reinforcing standards and procedures to all employees.
  • Fulfills all record keeping and administrative requirements, including financial records, and employee files and correspondence.



  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • 6+ years of Full Service Restaurant General Management experience 
  • P&L Management background with a strong financial acumen with the proven ability to oversee cost control, labor, management and bottom line profitability 
  • Experience with local marketing programs to increase customer loyalty and drive sales 
  • Must be able to work 50+ hours a week
  • Must have reliable transportation 
  • Experience hiring, training, and mentoring managers and staff
  •  BOH/FOH operations experience
