Network Engineer

Our client is currently seeking an experience Network Engineer to join their team.

The Network Engineer is a mid-level position within the Network Services Group assisting in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. Provides design, documentation and development of current / future network strategies, protocols and topologies.

Responsible for day-to-day support of the network by maintaining network switches and routers, support Voice over IP (VoIP) system, IP/DNS administration and Active Directory

Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load balancing, VPN’s, firewall, contexts and network address translation where appropriate.

Assist in the design of solutions, installation, configuration, deployment, testing and providing support for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies. Ensure network configuration and compliance standards are adhered to and develop appropriate standards when incomplete or out of date.

Develops, tests, and implements complex scripts to automate common functions or network operations

Monitor network devices for abnormal performance or failures to minimize downtime or serious loss of data. Incident response to network outages. Interface with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable network operation.

Using automated tools or command line perform basic analysis of network statistics to optimize performance and integrity of Corporate network systems/Active Directory.

Researches and evaluates industry trends to update job knowledge of position

Support and collaborate on the development, implementation and administration of architectural strategy, processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, recoverability and optimum performance of network infrastructure systems and solutions.

Must be available for on-call support rotation including weekends. Environment is part of a 7X24 support team.



  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 5+ years of relevant professional Information Technology experience installing, maintaining, and/or modifying network operating systems to include both software and hardware.
  • CCNP/CCNA preferred
  • Technical knowledge of networking, Windows, AD, Cisco routers/switches, firewalls, DNS and TCP/IP using command line and automated tools.
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems is desired.
  • Knowledge of Cisco IOS command line programming and Active Directory administration
  • Ability to use a Windows PC plus excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is expected.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
